I purchased this watch because I have a very special connection with Arches. Delicate Arch is beautifully rendered and I love the Sun and full Moon hour indication. The case of the watch is solid and simple; so as not to overpower the beauty of the art. I have two wishes that would make it a Five Star experience for me. Make the full Moon luminous, that would add another level of interaction and play to an already pleasing experience. Second, and major, upgrade the leather of the watch band. I believe it may improve with age - I sure hope so. Ironically, the watch box feels more premium than the band. Please grant my two wishes and I'll purchase the watch again!
Beautiful watch. The art is amazing and telling the time is a bonus. Always enjoy checking the time and reminds me of visiting the actual Arch.
Everything I expected. Incredible watch. Makes me think of my great uncle when I look at it. He retired in New Mecico before I was born and that’s where I always visited him. Awesome views on Sandia peak in the distance. Adobe style house. Southwest decor. This watch takes me back. I know Arches isn’t in New Mexico, but close enough.
The only things I would’ve liked to see would be slightly more visible hour marks, and for them to glow in the dark as well. Maybe instead of hash marks, making them triangular pointing toward the middle of the watch. That’d even be reminiscent of a southwestern sun design.
Also, I’m not sure how it could be done, but It’d be incredible if the Arch’s shadow moved in opposition to the sun/moon like it does naturally. Or, even harder, if there is a way to make the length of day/night change like it actually does through the seasons, that’d be mind blowing. As it is, I love it, and I’m looking forward to the equinoxes so my watch is in sync with space time.
In case you couldn’t tell, I’m a science teacher sooo…that’s why. Lol
I love the art, but would love it even more if it were printed on tin, or enameled on glass.
The dial of the Arches Day Night watch is a work of art! The detail is somehow even more impressive in person, and I love watching the sky change throughout the day, which truly seems to make the scenery change too. I was also delightedly surprised to find that the moon (and I assume the sun) glows in the dark!
At 38mm, it's certainly the smallest watch I own. I usually wear between 43mm and 45mm. Similarly, the strap is thinner than I would like, and the watch feels significantly lighter than others I own. I would love to see an XL version in the future and would eagerly buy it!
Aside from the size, the only improvements I would make are:
1. The green color of the back casing does not go well with the design. I would rather see orange or red glass to better match the arch.
2. The strap, though genuine leather, looks a feels like plastic. There was some minor tearing on the underside of the strap where the lug pin is designed to stick through.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the purchase and will certainly buy from this brand again, especially if larger versions are released. Thanks for a great, unique, and beautiful timepiece!
