Gates of the Arctic Day Night
Gates of the Arctic Day Night
The Gates of the Arctic watch displays daytime from 6 am to 6 pm with a north star pointing to the hours and a moon for the hours between 6 pm and 6 am representing the limited amounts of daylight during winter in Alaska. Each hour is denoted by a white star/dot in the night sky. The minutes are shown inside the mountain peak. And when the lights go out, the luminescent northern lights begin to glow.

It's a good fit and I do really enjoy the Aurora brilliance. My only little qualm is that the glow could be a bit stronger, and maybe if they do a version 2 it could be in varying streaks of aurora color or act as a night watch where you could hit the dial to illuminate it for time viewing at night.
4.5 stars! This is one of the area parks I really want to see when I get a chance to go towards Alaska! Might have to carry around a UV light keychain to constantly activate that glow effect because that is just some Aurora brilliance when activated! Natural light and UV light I think probably are the things that activate that glow effect. I kind of hope that they do use this effect in the future or do a version 2.0 that they might have a setting that either does a full night light effect (for viewing) or has a stronger glow maybe with some added striping from blue or purple hues.
Hey Kate!
Thanks for your feedback! Maybe something sort of like Indiglo would be wonderful, but there are so many moving parts to the dials. Keep the comments and ideas coming!
I absolutely love this watch, the design is phenomenal, and functions perfectly. I haven't gotten it to glow in the dark at night but I love it all the same. Much prefer having an art piece for a watch over a plain old thing.
Don't think I could go back to ordinary watches after this.
I LOVE my watch, I have small wrists but it looks good with my outfits and doesn't feel like it overpowers me.
Once you take the time to learn to read it, its quite easy.
I think the glow in the dark is also a bonus!
Watch has a great design but is rather complicated to read. This is probably the most complicated amongst all the designs. But I’d say, it has the most beautiful design.
