It’s a unique watch but VERY hard to actually see the time. The hour numerical marker is almost behind everything else in a cut circle at the bottom right and is always in a shadow so if you’re indoors or looking at the watch in the evening it’s very hard to see. The details are also not as polished as I thought they would be. The overall look is much more static than I thought it would be and i really wish the waterfall was the “seconds” indicator and moved more. Not at all like the pictures / videos I saw online .
Appreciate the feedback! That jump hour will hopefully be a thing of the past. We're looking forward to the new line, so please let us know about what you'd like to see in the future!
Beautiful watch! I’m very happy with this and got so many complements!
My wife bought a couple of these watches they looked so cool online. I didn’t pay too much attention to them before buying so I was a little disappointed when mine came in. Sadly I thought the seconds moved with the picture, but it’s with the minutes, so water doesn’t appear to be flowing, like in the animated picture online. It’s obviously sped up, but since it moves with the minutes it’s much much slower, barely noticeable. I’m keeping my Olympic one, it’s still very nice and unique, at a fair price. One last little issue is mine doesn’t seem as highly defined as the online picture, maybe it’s a lighting thing. You can even see the two Olympic watch pictures are different themselves. Just pointing this out if you aren’t seeing it in person. I still recommend buying. I was also pleasantly surprised the back side is open so you can see how it’s operating inside, that was a nice surprise and a big reason why I kept it. I think the ones that move with the sky would be really cool, assuming the night/day matches with time of day. But the lava flow, my wife’s, isn’t flowing in real time either. I’d pay more for the watches, if they could figure out making the water/lava flow in real time. If it can move with seconds?
Hey David!
Thanks for leaving a review and giving us some feedback! That's helpful for all of our future lines.
We do still hope you are enjoying these and we appreciate your support so much!
Beautiful watch, i love it!
Thank you so much for supporting our brand!!! So glad that you loved it!
I really like the original design of the watch dial but it has two significant flaws as a practical watch. First, it is too difficult to read the time -- the hour should be more prominent and visible. Second, the oscillating weight, makes a very loud sound when it moves. if these could be improved, it would be a great watch.
Hello,
Thanks for the feedback. There are some limitations on hour big the hours can be because of the design of the movement's jump hour disc that the watch is built around. As this was our first collection and we're new to illustrative ways of telling the time, there has been a learning curve. We have taken steps for higher contrast on all future designs so we do appreciate the review.
Regarding the automatic rotor, we apologize if it's louder than expected. The exhibition caseback may play a part in that. If it was a solid steel caseback with no window the sound would be deadened more.
We hope you still enjoy wearing your Olympic NP watch.
